We feel very strongly that you should use real musicians, not CD’s, for the ceremony. Here’s why… the average length of time it takes for a bride to walk down the aisle (or as we often experience in Colorado, a mountain path) is somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds but the recordings a DJ would use are 2-4 minutes long. With many favorite classical songs, that 30-second walk is over before you get to the good part in the music, ie, the part that people recognize. That means that a DJ has to fade out the music they are using when the bride reaches the altar so that she and the bridal party don’t have to stand there waiting awkwardly for several minutes until the song is over. Ceremony musicians have the distinct advantage of being able to being the song at the right place and can time the music on the spot, ending pieces more gracefully and musically. Plus, live music is more elegant than canned.
